We Energies Sucks : Reason #1 - Budget Billing

Thanks We Energies. Thanks for fucking it all up for me.

Can I refinance my home? No.

Can I get a new credit card so I can get a balance transfer going and get out of my shitty APR with my current lender? No.

Can I get a loan for a car so I can drive to work in order to pay for my enormous WE Energies bill that no doubt will be coming this winter? NO NO NO!

Why? Because some rep told me years ago that I can take my current balance and be put into "budget billing." Well that sounds smart! Now I wont go to collections, now my service wont be interrupted and me and family won't freeze to death! Everybody wins!

Except its not, its a horrible way to ruin your credit. And now my credit is irrevocably damaged so I can't continue have smart options to make my situation better.

WE Energies, as I have found out, has been reporting my 'budget plan' as a "delinquent account" to the credit agencies. That's right. My billing matter was not privately handled between me and WE Energies, it was REPORTED FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO KNOW, FOREVER. Even though I have never missed a payment towards WE Energies since being put on "budget billing", I am still a "delinquent account"

Luckily, I'm a plucky worker who can be resourceful and come up with money in order to pay my "outstanding" $1200 bill so that I am "current". However, WE Energies now tells me that my payment to bring my "delinquent account" wont be reported back to the credit score agencies for 90 DAYS. That's right. Although WE Energies feels the need to report my account, which was delinquent for a month's period, they wont report my progress for 3 MONTHS.

WE Energies didnt have to be such assholes about this. They could have told me upfront that what I am doing by going to "budget billing" will ruin my credit score. I would have taken great heed from doing that ( since I was trying to escape going to collections in the first place, so my credit score didnt get f'ed) In fact from now on, lets call this "CREDIT SCORE SUCKERPUNCH" instead of budget billing...

Anyways, that's the 1st reason WE Energies sucks...
